RCT Newsletter - 02

One of the Residential Care Team (RCT) mandates is to provide education to people working within residential care facilities. This may be informal conversations when we visit a facility, regular teaching sessions at a facility or our more formal day long study days. The main two study days that the Otago Community Hospice run are:

• Palliative Care for Care Assistants (PC4CA)

• Fundamentals of Palliative Care (FoPC)

Both have been well attended over this year with some great discussions, sharing of information and experiences.  Over 2025 thus far we have had 76 attend PC4CA and 50 attend FoPC.

So if you are keen to learn more and participate in sharing your experiences please keep a look out for the next study days being run. We are already planning dates for 2026, including study days within the Central Otago and North Otago regions.
