At the Hospice NZ CEO Forum in October, I was reminded, again, how OCH stands out as a leader in the hospice sector.
And that reminded me to be grateful to our incredible team - a team of intelligent leaders, innovators, and change agents - at every level of the organisation.
It was very apparent that we practice in a way that is professional, based on evidence and at the same time maintaining the genuine kindness and humanity that is so sadly lacking across the health sector.
The presentation that Deb and Louisa and I did for the breakfast session focused on the background, the implementation and the outcome of the community project that shifted the CC model from a case management approach to a team based model. The presentation slides are below.
We were staggered at the level of interest and wonder at what we felt was a relatively straight forward, no brainer, response to a problem, using a continuing improvement model.
They were truly amazed. We sense that 2026 will see some visits from our colleagues to share knowledge and ideas.
