BNI Dunedin pulls together major Gala for Otago Hospice
The BNI Dunedin Charity Gala & Auction Event is on 12 October, and all funds raised from the event will go towards the comprehensive education service the Hospice provides to patients, families and those working in palliative care in the Otago primary health sector.
Hospice CEO Ginny Green says the Hospice has always received amazing and constant support from each of the individual Dunedin BNI chapters, but seeing these chapters collaborating is inspirational.
“We have a national partnership with BNI through HospiceNZ and our local chapters go above and beyond regularly donating boxes of biscuits for our volunteers and raising money through individual fundraising events. We are always blown away by what they contribute, but seeing them come together for this significant fundraiser is really incredible. They have pulled together the most amazing evening, including a significant auction.”
BNI event committee member Adin Long from the BNI Aspire chapter says the last six months organizing the event has taken a large effort from each of the chapter’s Hospice Champions, but says the effort should be worth the reward.
“We all are keen to support the Hospice in whatever way we can. By collaborating we have managed to create a much bigger opportunity for fundraising for Hospice. It’s a very satisfying process, and we all hope the result will be a large contribution to the Hospice Education team who do so much good work.”
BNI Charity Gala & Auction event takes place on 12 October at The Village Green. The event has been supported by Eventfinda, The Village Green, Simply Flowers and Events, OneZero Design Lab and the BNI Chapters: BNI Octagon, BNI Larnach, BNI Burns, BNI Lattitude 45, BNI Aspire, BNI Exchange, BNI Portabello.
Business guru Ian Taylor will be talking at the event about how to thrive as a business in Dunedin, with Dean Delaney as MC and live music by the Oxocubans. All those who attend the event will also receive a tour for two at the Cardrona Distillery and a complimentary glass of bubbles, as well as an all-night supper by The Inspired Pantry.
The event includes a silent auction run on Galabid which features a Starter Business package worth a total of $23,000, alongside 35 other items. The live auction features five exclusive items, including an Escape to Niue Package, a luxury Wanaka Weekend with a Ford Mustang and a Day of Golf with Ben Smith and Mike Hesson.
