Complete And Putter Madness
When Christina, Amy and I decided to enter a team I didn’t realise just how apt our name would be. Teeing off on the first hole went well and then the wheels fell off - and I don't mean the golf cart's. Although that could have happened too!
None of us had really played before. Christina was playing with her husband's clubs. Watching her try and hit the golf ball using clubs that were longer than she is was hilarious. She literally had to hold them half way down.
We took over an hour to play one hole. Par is like 3 or 4 and we got over 50. We even paid a professional golfer to take the first shot at the teeing ground at the 2nd hole but that couldn’t save us.
I learnt that when driving the golf cart, it’s always good to put the brakes on at the top of the hill! Luckily no one was hurt.
There were plenty of great stops along the way with the sponsored holes. We got to drink sparkling wine. There was sushi and sandwiches. One hole even had Pimms! If golf was always like that I’d probably do more.
We finally gave up after the third hole as we were holding everyone up.
The weather was shining and the company was great. Not sure golf is my thing, but thanks for the opportunity Hospice!
PS I had the smallest tea cup, but the biggest hangover!
