Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers
National Volunteer Week (NVW) honours the collective energies and efforts of volunteers across Aotearoa New Zealand. This Year’s Theme is Whiria te tangata – weaving the people together.
The theme is incredibly fitting for OCH as we literally couldn't do what we do without our volunteer force.
We have over 400 volunteers who contribute over 45,000 hours a year.
Based on the minimum wage that's over a million dollars of value.
38, 0064 of our 45,000 hours come from our 260 shop volunteers. The shops contribute $1.5 million dollars to the running of the Hospice each year.
We have another 98 volunteers here at North Road and 45 in our Biography Service.
This NVW please take the time to thank the volunteers working with you. They are part of our fabric.
